Our vision for this company wasn’t just based on sharing our culinary creativity and love for trail mix or granola, it was also based on inspiring others to spend more time outdoors. Vancouver Island is, in our eyes, one of the greatest places in the world to call home. We are surrounded by an abundance of wildlife and marine creatures, as well as beautiful forests, and sprawling ocean views. Our numerous hiking trails are world-renowned (for good reason), as they stretch for kilometers along breathtaking coastlines and through forests filled with towering cedars. It’s no wonder that people flock to the Island year-round from all over the globe.
Apart from encouraging others to go and explore the wonderful trails that Vancouver Island has to offer, we also want to protect our environment to the best of our abilities. Our strategy is to inspire more and more people to connect with their surroundings and create a community founded on supporting and stewarding our environment. The greater the connection between nature and people, the greater the chances that we will protect it.
As a company, we have done our best to limit our environmental impact, something that we admit can be difficult to do as a product-based business. We strictly use glass jars with metal lids to house our scrumptious granola and trail mixes, which are sourced through a Canadian company and manufactured as close to home as possible. Our eco-friendly labels are made of 100% recycled material, with recyclable adhesive, and are chlorine-free. We choose to vacuum-seal our products instead of utilizing a single-use plastic barrier for food safety purposes. We strictly adhere to supporting businesses and farmers who have obtained organic certification, and who share our morals and values. Over 90% of the fruits we freeze-dry and dehydrate for our recipes are sourced right here on Vancouver Island. Our chocolate is 100% plant-based and made by a Canadian company. Our nuts, seeds, and grains, are provided solely by Canadian and Californian farmers. We stick to small batches to ensure the highest quality possible, and none of our products contain any preservatives or additives.
